Auto refresh while you wait for results, scores and announcements
Exam results, university decisions, live scores, competition standings — when you're waiting for something to appear, auto refresh keeps the page current so you see it the moment it lands.
Set up the timer
- Install the extension. Add Auto Refresh & Page Monitor to Chrome. Auto refresh is free and needs no account.
- Open the results page and pick an interval. For live scores, 5 to 30 seconds keeps things up to date. For a results page that updates once, 1 to 5 minutes is plenty.
- Press Start. Leave the tab open and get on with something else. You'll see the result the next time you glance at the tab.
Turn on Hard refresh so the page doesn't show a cached version of “results not yet available.”
Or get an alert when the result lands
If you'd rather close your laptop and be told when the result is out, set up a page monitor.
- “Tell me when results appear on this page.”
- “Alert me when this stops saying results pending.”
The monitor checks from our servers on your schedule and sends an alert by email, WhatsApp or Telegram.
Questions
How often should I refresh for live scores?
Every 5 to 30 seconds for live scores. For a one-time result, 1 to 5 minutes is fine.
Can I monitor an exam results page overnight?
Yes. Set up a page monitor and it checks from our servers even with your computer off. You'll get an alert when the result appears.
Does auto refresh work on password-protected results pages?
Yes. Auto refresh runs in your own browser, so if you're logged in, the page reloads with your session. Monitors can't access login-protected pages.
Will it keep the page scrolled to the right spot?
A full reload returns to the top. If the page uses anchor links in the address, those survive.
